What personal data we collect and why we collect it:

Personal Details

Shore Cottage Studio Ltd. collects your personal information when you register as a user on our site, when you buy a voucher, and when you book onto a course. Shore Cottage Studio Ltd. uses this information to be able to fulfil your order.

When you purchase from our site, we collect necessary information, name, address, email address, and contact phone number. We serve refreshments and lunches as part of our courses, and collect the necessary dietary information. We can also make adjustments for certain medical conditions / mobility issues / hearing problems and collect information in order to do this – this can be done using our online form, or via e-mail / phone conversation. This information is added to your order, and recorded separately in our bookings diary kept in the studio.

After you have registered / purchased with us you will be given the opportunity to opt-in to receive information about related products and/or services, sent through a newsletter email via Mailchimp. This email has always used and will always use a double opt-in feature, meaning you must register your email address first, and then respond to a confirmation message sent to your email address. This prevents a third party registering your address without your consent. With every email that we send through Mailchimp regarding direct marketing activities, you will be given the option to inform us that you no longer wish to receive such email messages.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string – this helps with spam detection.

The WordPress platform associates an avatar with your email address. Gravatar powers the user avatars on WordPress.com. Your WordPress.com and Gravatar accounts are linked automatically. Once you configure your avatar, you’ll see it when you comment on blogs, when you post to the forums, and with any post displayed in WordPress.com’s community features.

An anonymised string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
