Three Things; Finds – Embroidered Ships
Sue found some wonderful hand embroidered panels in a charity shop with a nautical theme. Sue loves vintage hand embroidery and all things to do with the sea so couldn’t resist these panels.
The ships have been embroidered using bright colours that have now faded, imagine how vivid they would have been when they were first created.the background would have been a crisp white but has yellowed with time.
They are a real treat!
This is The Victory, Lord Nelson’s flagship at the battle of Trafalgar.
This is The Santa Maria, Columbus’ flagship on his first voyage to America.
This is The Mayflower was a Pilgrim ship in 1620 which voyaged to the New World.
