Three Things; Likes – The Renegade Craft Fair
This week Sue returned from London where she had been to the Renegade Craft Fair. She stayed with Minifelts creator Eve and Jo in Greenwich and they all went to the fair together. The fair, which was held at the Old Truman Bakery, is in its third year in the UK and is also hosted in five venues across the US. Whilst there a couple of stands caught Sue’s eye.
Sue fell in love with True Style Labs amazing needle felted animals. She was particularly taken with a needle felted lion’s eye in a frame that had some of its mane flowing through the frame. You can see a similar but larger with a whole lion’s face here on their website, stunning!
Sue bought this bird brooch from Amypanda. As well as making felt brooches Amypanda makes cute felt finger puppets. We like her woodland creature set best of all.
The House of Ismay produce elegant wood backed brooches with pages of classic literature fused to the front. The shape of the brooch is inspired by the title or story of the classic book. For example this brooch has the text from To Kill a Mockingbird on it. Others include Of Mice and Men in a mouse shape and The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes in the shape of a pipe. Other items include cute heart shaped earrings with pages from Pride and Prejudice and cuff links with musical score.
Sue had a great time visiting the Renegade Craft Fair and London in general, whilst there she bumped into Meghan from Pom Pom Quarterly whom we featured in a past blog – it’s a small world.
