Three Things; Spotlight – Fused Glass January
Last week we had friends Jenny and Cynthia join us for a two day fused glass course in the studio. They were so much fun to have in the studio and really up for experimenting and trying new techniques. They are both Soroptimists and planned to do the two day course as a kick start to a new fundraising technique for the ‘Crafty Ladies’. The pair set about mastering the basics of fused glass and designing lots and lots of pieces that they could potentially sell to raise money for their charities.
The experimenting led to some spectacular failures, like the attempt at adding real dried seaweed to the fused glass (lots of ash!) and some spectacular successes like the beautiful pendant necklaces they both created. Take some time to click through the image gallery below to see a small fraction of their lovely work.
Did they enjoy themselves?
In their own words…
Thank you so much for two wonderful days. Relaxing atmosphere with lovely cake and coffee. Very productive jewellery making in such delightful surroundings and company. I will be back. Jenny
Fantastic encouragement, excellent tuition, enjoyable. So much above and beyond the basic requirements. Thank you very much. Cynthia
