Three Things; Spotlight – Fused Glass Summer Courses

Fused glass summer courses

Spotlight on Miniature Fused Glass Seascapes today. Laura leads this great fun and slightly addictive course. The microwave kiln used fuses small scale glass pieces in minutes, very satisfying.

Glass seascape ready for fusing

Coarse glass pieces called frit is placed on a base piece, sprinkled with dried sand before a boat made from egg shell thin glass confetti is added. The piece will be topped with another round glass piece to form a sandwich before fusing in the microwave kiln.

Jewel like fused glass

As each piece takes relatively little time to make, compared to traditional fused glass, this course allows for more experimentation. An ideal class to build confidence and get you started on a new hobby or as a stress free creative break.

Fused glass boats in a deep frame

Take home beautiful unique miniature fused glass seascapes either framed as this piece above or why not take home some fused glass jewellery. There is nothing quite like the sense of achievement when someone asks you where you got your necklace and you can say “I made it myself”.
