Three Things; Treasury – Up Coming Events
Today we have three up coming events that the Shore Cottage Studio team are involved in for you.
The Bridewell Studios and Gallery in Liverpool is hosting an exhibition entitled Searching:Unexpected Treasures from 12/09/2014 to 21/09/2014. The group exhibition is based around a cabinet of curiosities aesthetic and will be packed with tactile treasures to enjoy and to buy. Nestled amongst the treasures you will be able to see a laser cut feather piece by Kris similar to his Tenkuu piece and Laura’s A gift from the Sea a pinhole mermaid combination print.
We have also been asked to take part in this year’s Oxjam Festival in Heswall.
The main Oxjam festival is described in their own words… We are bringing together over 30 Wirral-based musicians across various venues in Heswall to celebrate live music and raise as much money as possible to help fight against a world of inequality and poverty.
We have a jam-packed diary of Summer fundraising events which will all culminate in the final OXJAM HESWALL TAKEOVER on Saturday 18th October 1pm-1am… more details TBC.
Contact email@example.com for more information or to get involved as a fundraiser, musician or sponsor.
Alongside the music there will be a silent auction of local artists’ work and that is where we come in. Artists have been asked to represent one of six portraits in their own style and media you can find out more on their Facebook page. All proceeds of the silent auction will go to Oxfam.
Following on from our involvement with beach clean ups with the Wirral Soroptimist Society and taking part in the Living Seas event with Cheshire Wildlife Trust we are now cleaning the beach once more and producing something beautiful to boot. This time we are working with the Environment Agency and taking part in The Big Dee Day. We will be hosting a team of volunteers and guiding them to produce some brilliant works of art from litter, flotsam and jetsam cleaned from the shore here at Thurstaston. The event will take place on Friday 19th September. More details to follow as we get them.
