Three Things; Treasury – Workshops at the WI fair

Workshops by Shore Cottage Studio

You may know we are exhibiting at the Wi Centennial Fair in Harrogate this September. (Click the pic below to visit the show website)

WI Centennial Fair 2015

You may not know that we have been asked to put on some workshops. We are providing the same quality workshops we do in our studio, just minus the cakes and the fabulous view! We are providing these workshops out of the goodness of our heart [obviously in the hope that a few of the participants may get hooked and want to visit us in the studio on anther occasion 🙂 ] and the WI are only charging a £3 admin fee for booking. This is literally never to be repeated and we are giving you all a tip off that the booking for these workshops goes live next week, they are sure to sell out super fast. Do let us know if you secure a place. If you plan on attending a workshop please note that you must also buy an entry ticket to the Show, even with this included it works out at about half the price of the workshops in our studio and you will have the whole of the rest of the show to explore.

You can see the full range of workshops by clicking here.

Laura’s workshops are…

Thursday 3rd September: Arm Knit a Chunky Cowl Scarf 10.30am. Even non-knitters can leave with a snuggly statement knit. Finished in an hour the huge yarn balls grow rapidly. Pick your colour and away you go!

Saturday 5th September: Inspiration doesn’t strike you have to pounce 3pm. An hour and a half of inspiration hunting, mark making and abstracting a design, make a sketchbook and mod board. Brilliant for the non creative, terrified of drawing type.

Sunday 6th September: Design and Decorate a Silk Scarf 10.45 am. Dye a painterly wash-style background and then use Shore Cottage Studio custom Laser cut print blocks to add a design.

Don’t worry if you are coming on the Friday and want to get a Shore Cottage Studio fix, Laura will be presenting in the Create and Craft theatre with an interactive talk on ‘Composing better images – Don’t Take Boring Pictures’. The theatre is open plan in the ‘Make it Yourself Zone’ and you don’t need tickets, just turn up.

Kris and Laura will both be manning the Shore Cottage Studio stand (A51) in the ‘Make it Yourself Zone’ – Hall A for the entire duration of the show so why not pop down and say hello? We are also offering a competition and special booking rates for show attendees.
