Three Things; Works in Progress – Laura’s Urban Approach
Our works in progress this week are images from Laura’s latest project, Urban Approach.
Whilst up in the Lake District collecting their award for Coastal Best Practice in Leisure and Tourism, Kris and Laura stayed in the beautiful Grange Hotel where the awards were to be presented. First thing straight after breakfast Laura sneaked outside to do some quick self portraits. Setting the camera up on a tripod and triggering the shutter with a remote release(just seen in her left hand) she couldn’t resist an image with this majestic lion. This version has been colour tinted using Photoshop and Laura has added some fine bronze antlers too!
Earlier in the year Laura photographed this image of scaffolding in Chester with a bright blue sky and a crane lifting materials in front of the building. Having taken the lion portrait above Laura was reminded of the lines in this image. She thought the diagonal lines here would work well with the height difference between herself and the lion on the self portrait.
So here is the combined image, what do you think?
