Flashback Friday: Digging 30 years ago and now.

Flashback Friday today so we’ve ‘dug up’ these images from 1983. Sue and John Barnes bought the derelict pair of coastguard’s cottages in 1982 and were granted planning permission early 1983. Thirty years ago this summer, work had started on rescuing them and turning them into a family home.

Sue, John and Laura proudly show off the drainage pipework and new septic tank. This Photograph was taken by John and Sue’s eldest son, who was about five at the time.

Our recreated flashback today… Kris has been busy digging trenches for our new studio to carry electric, water etc from the main house. We can’t wait for the studio to be built and move our courses from the kitchen table and spare room into a purpose built space. Kris and Laura’s four year old daughter took this shot.
