We visited the Art Dredge Private View in Manchester’s Piccadilly Place last night. The exhibition is on until the 5th of June so there is plenty of time to go and see for yourself. The work of three artists; Matt Sewell, Jason Heppenstall and Donna Bramall are exhibited alongside up and coming artists.
Kris and Laura’s eldest took part in an illustration Masterclass with Matt Sewell which we blogged about earlier. The fruits of the Masterclass, including two pieces by our seven year old, are now exhibited alongside work from the man himself. This wonderful painting started out as a health lottery metal sign dredged from the canal.
Jason Heppenstall‘s GiAnt loomed over the gallery casting shadows in the early evening light. This and all the pieces are available to buy, watch out for the little red dots appearing on the labels as the weeks go by.
Donna Bramall‘s work was so varied, with some bright colourful pieces like this dipper, to darker pieces like her umbrella insects.
Our seven year old artist amused himself at the gallery by copying the poses of the sculpted animals. If you do visit, how about you post us a pic of you posing with a sculpture in tribute?
